UCS end-of-week trading update

UCS end-of-week trading update : A-h-h, the joys of being patient. Trading activity was listless, most of the day. Around 2:00 pm, I thought traders had packed it in already and had decided to call it a week. Then all of a sudden BAM! UAW Members Approve GM Pact , the DOW turned positive, activity picked up, and the scramble was on to adjust positions before the end of the day. The ProShares Technology Fund picked up steam like a ferry headed to the Bahamas for the weekend, closing north of $29.00 with the last trade at $29.55. The fund's share volume increased from 179,00 shares to 312,400 shares, which is not the above average volume I was looking for but good enough to make this a positive week after days of listless trading activity. Next week, I am hoping that the fund can crack the $30 range barrier- we will see. Otherwise, have a great weekend folks. 05/29/09 05:26:38 PM If you are interested in trading this fund, would like a prospectus or have a question concerning this f

ETF update: Choppy trading

ProShares Ultra Technology Fund update: Trading still very choppy. No clear signals or direction are developing today yet. There is lots of economic data to digest or ponder such as the University of Michigan Surveys of Consumers Sentiment. Trading volume in the fund has been very heavy at roughly over 179,000 shares as of 11:27 am today. Of note, the fund had only traded 193,000 shares almost all day yesterday. 05/29/09 11:28:23 AM

ETF technology fund update: ROM

ProShares Ultra Technology Fund update: This is interesting, fund volume is 193,000 shares with 5 mins before market close but share price is holding pretty firm at $28.67. If you've been thinking on purchasing this fund, I would suggest that you hold off for about another day. The market normally picks up steam towards the close, although today's choppiness gave no clear indication on where the markets may be heading at the close. I am looking for an entry point but not feeling it yet. 05/28/09 03:30:53 PM

ETF technology fund update: ROM

05/27/09 09:27:22 PM ProShares Ultra Technology Fund update: When the markets get tough and rough ETFs could be a good place to be. They are diversified, benchmarked to a specific index, and offer all the benefits of a mutual fund, but with the ability to trade like a stock. Yesterday, the Ultra Technology Fund had good volume that carried over today based on Apple being upgraded, with Qualcomm and Microsoft also in the news. I searched the web today for technology news on the majors and I found nada ; nothing of substance except the usual- Microsoft still interested in a buying Yahoo's search assets. Otherwise, pretty quiet on the technology news front, with the added current economic jitters and it was like letting the air out of a balloon. Lol .-:) We will pick up following the fund tomorrow.

05/27/2009 03:10:58 PM ProShares Ultra Technology Fund update: Trading volume has fallen back to normal with volume at 339,838 shares with last trade at $28.33. Relative strength index indicators are undetermined, signaling neither an overbought nor oversold situation. However, the weakness in volume is probably due to a late afternoon sell-off of the DOW as traders turn bearish.

ETF Technology update:ROM

05/27/09 12:16:59 PM ProShares Ultra Technology Fund update. Trading volume is not as strong as yesterday, with volume at 213,000 shares . The average daily volume on this technology etf is 425,000 shares . I do not believe that it is going to make it to that 670,000 shares volume level that we saw yesterday, although looking at the level II stock quotes showed buy orders ahead of sell orders by almost a 2 to 1 margin. If you want to purchase or buy this stock for a short-term trade, I suggest waiting for a buy entry price of $28.50 to $28.65 .

ETF Update: A Traders Advice

5/27/2009, 08:54:50 AM Good morning! Time to get going and make some money today! I found a good article of an interview given by a top trader on CNBC .com . The article was actually posted yesterday but I am posting it now. It's on how he trades and how he's successful at trading during the day. A good article for traders or wannabe traders. The trader, ( Charles Poliacof ), doesn't say much as much as what he does say; lol ! ETF technology fund update:ROM

Closing notes: The ProShares Ultra Technology Fund closed at $ 28.50 per share with total daily volume of 604,728 shares traded. The Dow Jones US Technology Index closed at 432.98 up 3.32% . On a positive note, one of the companies that make up a large percentage of the holdings of the ProShares Ultra Technology Fund - ( Apple ) had good news coverage today on CNBC.com , which in my opinion pushed the fund's NAV a bit higher. It will be interesting to see how the fund will trade tomorrow. Remember this is a (2X) leverage fund. It returns twice the daily results of the index; so if you invested $1000 in the fund and the index increased 10% today, you would see a return of $200 today and vice-versa if the index went down 10% you would have a negative return on your investment by $200.
